Change your preliminary income assessment

  1. Log on to skat.dk/tastselv using your E-tax password (TastSelv-kode) or your NemID. You can order an E-tax password if you do not have one. If you have turned 15 years old, you can order NemID.
  2. Select Forskudsopgørelsen 2020 (Preliminary income assessment 2020).
  3. If the income is not already entered in field 201 - Lønindkomst mv. (Earned income, etc.) go to Oftest tilføjede felter (Frequently added fields) and select Nyt job (New job). Enter the income you expect to earn for the year in field 201 - Lønindkomst mv. (Earned income, etc.). See example.
  4. Select Beregn (Calculate) at the bottom of the page and check that your figures are correct.
  5. Select Godkend (Accept). Your tax card has now been changed.
  6. Select TastSelv-menu (E-tax menu) and check that we have your e-mail and your phone number. If we do not have it, select Ret kontaktoplysninger (Change contact information) under your name and fill out the information.

Thank you. You are done!

Please contact the Danish Tax Agency (Skattestyrelsen) if you have any questions.

Facts

  • Your employer/internship host collects your information directly from the Danish Tax Agency
  • Make sure you tell your employer/internship host which tax card to use (primary or secondary tax card)
  • If your income is smaller from your student job or your internship than from your state education grant, your employer/internship host should use your secondary tax card. Speak to your employer/internship host or check your pay slip.
  • You are entitled to an employment allowance (tax deduction) when you are working. The allowance increases as your income increases, and you should therefore keep your preliminary income assessment updated with the income you expect to earn.
