NemID/MitID is a common secure login, which you can use to log on to all public Danish websites, your online banking and other private websites.

All Danish citizens over the age of 15 can get a NemID/MitID, as can people with a Danish residency or non-Danish students in Denmark.

NemID will be replace by MitID in 2021/2022. Read more in Danish about MitID.

If you cannot obtain NemID/MitID, you can use an E-tax password to log on to E-tax for individuals. We can send you the password via text, email or letter.

E-tax password via text or email

You can get an e-tax password straight away in a text message or an email if you have entered your mobile number or your email address in E-tax under Ret kontaktoplysninger (Correct your contact details).

Please note that the password will be un-encrypted in a text or in an email. This means that there is a risk that other people may get a hold of your E-tax password - and thereby gain access to your personal data in E-tax for individuals.

E-tax password via letter

You can also receive your E-tax password by regular post which is the most secure method.

If you live outside Denmark, you need to have your non-Danish registered with the Folkeregister before we can send you the password by post.

Order an E-tax password

If you enter your phone number or email address in E-tax under Ret kontaktoplysninger (Correct contact details), you will get a text or an email notification when your tax assessment notice or preliminary income assessment is ready.

When you receive a notification, you log on to E-tax and select Kontakt (Contact). 

Log off (top right) and close all browser windows when you have finished using E-tax. Otherwise other persons using the computer may be able to access your information.
